I was born in Birmingham, Alabama and raised in and around Memphis, Tennessee.  After spending a year living with my sister and sailor brother-in-law in Spain when I was 11 years old, my mother and I followed my sister and her family to South Florida when I was about high school age.

After forming Crossfire Choir  (later signed to Geffen Records, etc. >see history) and heading North, I spent most of my adult life living in New Jersey and New York.  I now live in Long Beach, California.

I continue to write, record and perform primarily as an acoustic singer/songwriter in Southern California and try to spend as much time as possible on the beach ("the beach is a place where a man can feel he's the only soul in the world's that's real" >from my favorite album, Quadrophenia)

I have recently teamed up with former Crossfire Choir mates, Brad Peet and Ron Desaram, and friends John and Bill Storch (formerly of Atatat/Black Box Approach) and Andy McManus (Peeling Autumn) to record a disc of several songs recorded in Florida with my vocal and guitar tracks being recorded in California and sent via FedEx to be synched up with the other tracks.  Calling ourselves the Sewing Circle Sues, we hope to be playing in the upcoming year to promote the project.
